It was a rather chilly morning given the time of year and the ground outside was lightly sprinkled with rain droplets that had been left there from the night before. A young woman, cloak pulled tight around her shoulders and blonde hair tied neatly in a ponytail, walked through Knockturn Alley, her pace rather quick but not enough that she would be running in any undignified manner. Merlin forbid her father catch her doing that [/i]! She made her way towards a small shop with a dusty sign that read Poison Apple Apothecary. It was a rather unknown potions shop that sold the more sinister and slighlty illegal items that Diagon Alley would never dream of stocking and most of them were extremely expensive, hence the fact that few bothered with, or knew about, the store. But for young Bellatrix Malfoy, money was no object. Before she realised it Bella was standing outside the dusty store, wrinkling her nose slightly in disgust, but it couldn't be helped, this was the best place to go for items such as those she needed. She entered the store and looked around for a moment, noting a rather creepy looking man behind the counter, reading from a book that looked to be written in some foreign language but she couldn't be quite certain. She made her way towards the back wall and began searching through the names of ingredients, bats wings, unicorn blood freely given, king cobra venom, basalisk venom... "Ah here it is, basalisk scales" she said to herself, taking a small jar off the shelf. She would have to haggle with the owner, there was no way she was paying 400 galleons for this jar, who did he think she was, a fool he could get extra money off. With that in mind she continued along the shelves, searching for any other ingredients she might need to prevent her having to return to this place for a while. Thestral hairs, giants blood, ashwinder eggs... "Blood of a Hungarian Horntail" she added to herself, taking the vial and heading towards the counter. "Who do you think you're fooling" she sneered at the man there, who seemed to have realised that this, rather petite woman, was not someone he wanted to mess with, especially since he had just realised where her rather distinct features came from "I will not be paying 400 galleons for such a pitiful jar of basalisk scales" she said. "Oo..o..ok h..how ab..bout 350?" he stuttered hopefully and Bellatrix merely raised her eyebrow. Scare tactics, who would have believed that the aunt she had been named for would be correct in the assumption that they worked rather well. "300?" she started for a moment "250" she responded "N..now w..wait a m..minute, I n..need to eat you k..know" he said, his stuttering getting worse and she knew he was scared because old Ignotus "Poison" Parkers did not scare all that easily. "250 or I look elsewhere" she said with an air of finality and Parkers sighed, there was no arguing with a Malfoy. He placed both items in a bag and handed them to her, she threw the galleons (naturally in a small bag) on the counter and walked out of the store. She began walking towards a little known pub at the end of the street, not quite wanting to head into Diagon Alley where she could be spotted with such items. Just as she rounded a rather small corner she walked head first into another person, stumbling but managing to keep her balance by leaning against the wall. Of course if anyone asked her list later she would deny that she, Bellatrix Malfoy, had done something so common and undignified as stumble and she most certainly did not walk into another person, they walked into her. She straightened herself out and turned towards the person who had walked into her with a sneer "watch where you're going" she spat.[/size][/blockquote]

"Watch where you're going!"
Scorpius went rigid with recognition when the icy tones met his ears; of all the people to encounter in Knockturn Alley, he had to (quite literally) run into his pill of a little sister. The irony of the situation was that his destination was exactly where she was leaving, though that wasn't a surprise given his profession--He frequented the shop so often that Parkers probably would've charged him 250 for the Basilisk Scales without even a request by the young Unspeakable.
"I should have to ask you to do the same, Trixie," He muttered, his lip curling as he straightened the creases in his robes stiffly. To an outsider, it might look as if the two clearly despised eachother--Or at least on Scorpius' end, but in reality Trix had been his favorite sister growing up. As he got older they sort of grew apart; he wasn't impressed with her bisexuality, but the core of the issue might've been jealousy. Jealousy over the fact that she could be so overt with her true self without a care what others thought--Of course, she wouldn't have been able to deduce any sort of envy from him, even with her little gift--He'd mastered occlumency before he even graduated Hogwarts, thanks to her mostly.
Scorpius' eyes flickered to the bags in her hand. "Had I known you were making a trip to the Apothecary I would've offered my company, I'm on my way there," and then with vague curiousity and some deeper purpose he added, "What did you buy?" If she had anything that was on his list he might pinch some ingredients from her instead of buying it all himself, although the Ministry covered his potions expenses anyhow, he knew those jars often contained much more than you needed for one potion.
Without waiting for a response he took the bag from her hand, peeking inside and chortling to himself lightly. "Ashwinder eggs? Are you making a love potion, Bells? Tell me, is it for a man or a woman..." <--Rhetorical question. "And please tell me he didn't have you pay 400 for the Basilisk Scales." He motioned to hand it back to her, eyebrows raised in amusement, a bit condescending. But he felt he was liscenced for the gesture, she was his baby sister, after all.

((sorry bout the late response I've been rather busy with job interviews and college work -le sigh- but the worst is over for a while XD))
"I should have to ask you to do the same, Trixie,"
Bellatrix almost jumped out of her skin at the sound of the all too familiar voice of her oldest brother and at hearing the familiar nickname that few outside the family used. Of course being a Malfoy she daren't show such a thing and looked just as calm as ever. She finished fixing her robes before looking up at her brother "Scorpius, what are you doing here?" she asked, her voice detatched but, having known her for so long, Scorpius would know that she was curious, of that she was certain. The pair had been close as children, up until Trix had come out to her family at seventeen, stating that she was, in fact, bisexual. They hadn't liked it much but she had expected such a reaction. Malfoys were nothing if not perfect, she had been told, and she supposed that to some degree she still believed such a thing.
"Had I known you were making a trip to the Apothecary I would've offered my company, I'm on my way there," "What did you buy?"
"More potions work again I suppose?" Bellatrix stated with a raised eyebrow, though it came out as more of a question. Everyone knew that, as an Unspeakable, Scorpius was forbidden to speak of his work to anyone outside the office, if you could call it that, but Bellatrix felt like asking anyway, she wasn't sure why but it just seemed like the right thing to do. She sighed as her brother asked about her ingredients, dammit she knew someone would find out she was buying such expensive and potentially dangerous ingredients. She didn't bother to fight him as he took the bag from her, lest she risk breaking the jars, Parkers wasn't the most intelligent of Apothecary Owners and often forgot to add unbreakable charms to some of his jars.
"Ashwinder eggs? Are you making a love potion, Bells? Tell me, is it for a man or a woman..." "And please tell me he didn't have you pay 400 for the Basilisk Scales."
Bellatrix rolled her eyes, she understood that the first question was rhetorical and didn't even want to answer so she ignored it. Though she was sorely tempted to answer just to irritate him. Scorpius had gone into big-brother-mode as she called it, asking questions and such like. She took the bag back from him before speaking, ensuring that everything was there "250" she said "he tried for 400 but I got him to see sense" she said before adding slyly "and I didn't even dirty my hands with violence" as if it was a huge accomplishment for the woman. She was certainly petite with her slender frame and 5'5" height but there were some people, like Parkers, who she could scare s**tless while others, like Scorpius, were not affected. But pretty much anyone knew that she was not the type to inflict physical pain on another, no she much preferred the subtle mental approach, kick started by the fact that she could implant thoughts into someones head provided they had no form of mind sheilding. She would admit, to some, that she could only hint towards the thoughts, like an inner voice would, so it wasn't extremely effective in a case like this. [/blockquote]
